| Welcome
to Athens
Welcome to Athens, Ontario;
a small village with a population of about 1000 people. A great
place to visit, and a better place to live! It is located just thirty
minutes North-West of Brockville. Athens has a rich history and
prior to 1889, the village was known as Farmersville. Athens is
most famous for its large outdoor murals, located throughout the
small town. The town is also filled with historic buildings such
as the Athens Town Hall, which opened in 1905 by Sir Wilfred Laurier,
small tourist shops, and many restaurants.

Leisure time
can be spent in many ways, depending on the season. The local Snowmobile
club is always active during the winter season and the summer can
be spent golfing on local golf courses, fishing on Charleston Lake,
or spending the day at the Charleston Lake Provincial Park. Throughout
the year the Joshua Bates Centre also holds many concerts and shows.
Athens offers something fun for all ages, come out and see what
we have to offer!
