Mary Lynn Baker


Mary Lynn Baker has contributed 3 murals to the village of Athens, Ontario. "Turkey Fair Day" was the first mural she painted. It is an 80'x35' painting which took approximately 15 weeks to complete. The second is "Brave Deed", which took about 5 weeks to finish. And Mary Lynn's third contribution was "Highway 42 East", which was completed after a time period of about 6 weeks. Mrs. Baker has also donated her talents to the Brockville Collegiate Institute in Brockville, Ontario. Where she has painted a historical mural. She also has plans to paint during the summer of 1996 in Shelburn, Ontario. Her other talents include paper mache, which she sells all over Canada, and various water and oil colour paintings. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Mary Lynn grew up and trained as a Draftsman and later earned a degree at the Ontario College of Art in Figurative Painting. Her favorite painters include Ingres, Gustoff Klient, and Kollvitz. Mary Lynn is very grateful to the village of Athens for allowing her to display her talents. Athens is where she learned to paint murals, and hopes she can paint others.
