Illegal Distribution Survey The Illegal Distribution survey generated many comments from surveyors with 10 all together 2 comments were about the survey it self, and the other 8 were peoples opinions about the piracy in general. All comments were pro piracy mainly focusing on music. "I've been downloading
Music from the Internet for years. People say its illegal but I rarely
hear of anyone getting caught. The only way you can get caught is if the
government goes poking around in your computer. Isn't that illegal too?" "I think that using burned
CD's should only be illegal when you sell them for a profit or even just
selling them. But if you borrow it from a friend or family member or if
you burned the game, movie, etc. yourself, it should be okay. It should
only be illegal when you sell them." "There is nothing wrong
with using copies of music or games. Those companies that have the copyrights
to the stuff are so rich it's ridiculous." "Those things, music and
movies, are so expensive, so you save a lot of money with this system
as a pirate person" "Selling these items for
a profit IS the part that's wrong. At one point someone had to of bought
the software. Big Names in Music and Game Companies have more then enough
to keep themselves warm at night. A song or two shared is nothing different
then a cassette off the radio. They aren't going to go broke with millions
saved for a rainy day. The sharing of music also lets small bands get
a chance to be heard (ever heard of a demo tape? same situation). Thanks
for your survey, one of my best liked topics thus far." "I know it's wrong...but
I do it." "I think it is okay if
you have a CD and you want to make a copy for you or a family member,
nobody else...but you just want another copy of it, just in case the one
you have gets ruined" "I see nothing wring with
burning music off the Internet!"
