Most teen said they started taking drugs, because of curiosity. 32% of teens started taking drugs because they felt like it. 56% of the teens said it was curiosity. This survey shows that peer pressure is not a major factor in the usage of illegal drugs.
Results by Gender
Most females said that they take drugs because they were curious. The next most common response was because the females felt like taking them. Only 5% of the females said they took drugs because of peer pressure.
Most males said they take drugs because of curiosity but almost as many males took drugs because they felt like it. A startling 8% of males said they used drugs because of an adults influence.
