The most common method of committing suicide is guns but 26% of the people knew that that was the correct answer. 74% of those surveyed answered incorrectly that the most common method was with pills, hanging or poison gas. A surprising 54% of the people thought that the most common method was pills.

Results based on Gender

More males answered this question correctly than females when the difference between the male and female answers were looked at. 21% of the females answered correctly that guns were the most common method as opposed to 36% of males. 79% of the females answered incorrectly and 64% of the males.
