What We Learned

Excel

We used excel because it was a handy tool for us to make the graphs for our website.

This was a very hard task to keep everything the same, because all the graph makers had to be very consistent. We had to use the same format. The colours of the bars and circles on our graphs had to be either blue or gold. The size of all the graphs had to be carefully constructed, by using appropriate proportions, so that all the bars can be easily read. The font, all had to be the exact same on each graph that was constructed.

The steps we took while using excel included:

  • Putting raw numbers into columns.

  • Making each into percentages.

  • Highlighting our percentages, and putting them into graphs

  • This is when we added our titles.

  • When the graphs were completed on the screen, we then added our colours - blue and gold.

Consistency

  • We could only use four kinds of graphs.

  • Only four colours could be used. Black for the writing, white for the background, and gold and blue for the bars, and circles on the graphs.

  • All the writing on the graphs had to be in the same font and size.

  • No legends were used on the graphs.
