Recipes for the Mixing of the Reagents
Acetic acid, CH3COOH, glacial: Use as is from concentrted commerical stock
 
Acetic acid, CH3COOH, 6 M:  Dilute 350 mL of glacial acetic acid with water to 1 L of volume.
 
Alpha-nitroso-beta-napthol, C11H7O4, 1.0 M: Make a saturated solution in 50% acetic acid (1 part acid to 1 part water), DOES NOT KEEP WELL.  VERY LIMITED SHELF LIFE.
 
Aluminon Reagent, C19H11O3(COONH4)3, (ammonium salt of aurin tricarboxylic acid): Use a 0.1% solution (0.1 g in 100 mL of distilled water.)
 
Ammonium carbonate, (NH4)2CO3, 1.5 M: Dissolve 171 grams of the hydrate, (NH4)2CO3.H2O, in water and dilute to 1 L
 
Ammonium chloride, NH4Cl, 3.0 M: Dissolve 160 grams of NH4Cl in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Ammonium hydroxide, NH4OH, 6.0 M: Dilute 400 mL of the concentrated commercial stock ammonia to 1 L with distilled water.
 
Dimethylgloxime: Dissolve 12 grams in 1 L of 95% ethyl alcohol

Hydrochloric acid, HCl, 6.0 M: Dilute the concentrated commerical HCl with an equal volume of water.

Lead(II) acetate, Pb(CH3COO)2, 0.5 M: Dissolve 190 g of Pb(CH3COO)2.3H2O in water and dilute to 1 L.

Magnesium Uranyl acetate: Dissolve 100 grams of UO2(CH3COO)2.2H2O in 60 mL of glacial acetic acid and 500 mL of water.  Dissolve 100 grams of magnesium acetate in 60 of glacial acetic acid and 500 mL of water.  Mix and filter the mixture after several days..

Nitric acid, HNO3, 6 M:  Pour 375 mL of concentrated commerical nitric acid into water and dilute to 1 L.

Potassium chromate, K2CrO4, 0.3 M: Dissolve 55 grams of K2CrO4 in water and dilute to 1 L.

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate:, KH2PO4, 0.3 M: Dissolve 40.8 grams of KH2PO4 in water and dilute to 1 L.

Potassium ferrocyanide, K3Fe(CN)6, 0.07 M:  Dissolve 40.8 grams of K3Fe(CN)6 in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Potassium oxalate, K2C2O4, 0.5 M: Dissolve 83.1 grams of K2C2O4 in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Potassium thiocyanate, KSCN, 0.3 M: Dissolve 29.1 grams of KSCN in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Sodium bismuthate, NaBiO3, 0.1 M: Dissolve 28.00 grams of NaBiO3 in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Sodium bisulphate, NaHSO4, 1.0 M: Dissolve 120.1 grams of NaHSOin water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Sodium cobaltinitrite, Na3Co(NO2)5,  0.1 M: Dissolve 15.1 grams of Na3Co(NO2)5 in 60 mL of glacial acetic acid and dilute with water to 1 L. 

OR

Dissolve 230 g of NaNO2 and 35 grams of Co(NO3)2. 6H20  in 60 mL of glacial acetic acid adn dilute with water to 1 L.

 
Sodium hydroxide, NaOH, 6 M:   Dissolve 240 grams of solid NaOH pellets in water and dilute to 1 L.
 
Sodium hypochlorite, NaOCL, 1.0 M: Use commerical unscented bleach as is.

Stannous chloride, SnCl2, 0.3 M: Dissolve 56.9 grams of SnCl2 in water and dilute to 1 L.

Sulphuric acid, H2SO4,  9 M:  Pour 465 mL of concentrated commerical sulphuric acid slowly into water and dilute to 1 L.
